We are a group of queer artists, and we are in big trouble.
In April 2025, we immigrated to France, seeking a safe place to live and make art.
Our humanitarian visas expired a year ago.
Since then, we have been trying to get legal status in France.
To be able to work, open a bank account, get health insurance and just have some basic human rights.
We spent a whole year fighting for our lives against Strasbourg Prefecture and we lost.

All this time we couldn't properly work, so we were burning our savings.
In August, all three of us were denied a residence permit.
According to the Prefecture, the only option for us To stay legally in France is to become asylum seekers.
About a week ago, we sent out our applications for the asylum.
Now we are looking at another indefinite stretch of time, before we are summoned to Paris for interviews.
It might be two months, three months, half of a year or even more... no one knows for sure.

We had planned for a year without documents max, and now it's been a year and a half already.
No matter how hard we tried to stretch our savings, they have run out.
Currently, we don't have enough money to pay for rent and food in November.
It's hard for me to admit that, but we are in huge trouble, with all our hopes and plans ruined by the French bureaucracy.
We really need your help and every little bit matters, so I came up with some options for how you can support us.

My final project in my stained glass workshop. The focus was adding color to our glass with liquid enamels. I hand painted the octopus, and airbrushed the wavy bits on the side and the blue background The shiny red silk is recessed and the murrini bubbles are on the surface. Really fun class.

Was trying out an auto-suggest prompt "I survived the" & was rewarded with this: "I survived the deadly battle on the Isle of Pirates" (RIP Izzy) It's from an unfinished fic a few years ago- think it's a sign to stop saying I can't write it & get back to it. Anyways, here's a bit from prologue:

He had been one of the lucky ones who had survived the deadly battle on the Isle of Pirates, during the Prince's partially successful attack. It had ultimately cost the Navy a great deal, and they were still no closer to re-capturing the dread pirate Blackbeard who had evaded them yet again. He sighed at the futility of it all. He'd met the man face to face, back when both pirates had surrendered and signed the King’s decree, and he was just another guy. Not at all like the stories depicted, in fact, he seemed kind and caring, which was certainly a rare thing in a captain. But then again, he was with Stede Bonnet, who seemed to have that effect on people. Not for the first time he found himself silently questioning whether he was fighting for the right side.

The Honeysuckle Pirate, I presume? (I was looking at my pirate garden (read: wild) thru the window this morning & spotted a honeysuckle I didn't know was there! Wish I'd seen it a few weeks back when the Bindweed was still flowering!). Reckon the bambo they're on is either the Revenge or Izzy.
