Doug Ford still has three weeks left of his 20-week summer break. Jealous? Should’ve been born rich, taken over your dad’s business, inherited the family home, and scammed your way into becoming the laziest, most corrupt premier with the lowest approval rating in all of Canada, babe. #OnPoli
An egg-shaped plastic toy from the 70s called a Weeble. It has a round face, pale skin, slightly sinister expression, and is under four active police investigations. Folks find it charming because it hands out free hot dogs once a year and pretends to be a man of the people. Not pictured: A small red shovel and a Tim Hortons egg sammich.

Holy shit! Alberta separatists offered the U.S. oil royalties in exchange for swapping the loonie for U.S. dollars. Royalties go to the resource owner. They pitched the U.S. on sending Alberta’s oil to the U.S. and paying them for the privilege. This is like paying your boss to go to work!

Tina Heiska
Tina Heiska (born 1959 in Helsinki, Finland) is a prominent Finnish contemporary artist and oil painter celebrated for her dreamlike, figurative works that explore female identity, memory, and the human condition. Based in Helsinki, she earned her Master of Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki in 2001. Her practice centers on an ongoing, intricate dialogue between photography and painting.

Artistic Process and Philosophy
Heiska's methodology is defined by rendering the ephemeral nature of photography into the permanent medium of paint.

The Photographic Draft: She uses self-staged photographs-often featuring herself as the model-not as traditional self-portraits, but as raw blueprints to construct an alter ego or a cinematic "still".

Her methodology is defined by rendering the ephemeral nature of photography into the permanent medium of paint.

Cinematic Tension:
Rather than delivering a linear narrative, her series of paintings act as tragmented movie stills. This layout deliberately challenges the traditional "male gaze" by establishing a decidedly female perspective.

Technique:
Working primarily with oil on canvas, she utilizes soft, ethereal brushwork, blurred environments, and a delicate, luminous palette. Her paintings balance a tight, dramatic tension with wide, chaotic marks where the paint itself takes control.

Ok sorry but Tim Hodgson's interview on Power and Politics really gives the game away. He's asked, isn't there language in Bill C-5 that all projects listed as in the national interest should be considered for how they *contribute to Canada's clean growth and climate goals*? Oh! There it is 👇
Factors
(6) In deciding whether to make an order under subsection (1) or (4) in respect of a project, the Governor in Council may consider any factor that the Governor in Council considers relevant, including the extent to which the project can
(a) strengthen Canada’s autonomy, resilience and security;

(b) provide economic or other benefits to Canada;

(c) have a high likelihood of successful execution;

(d) advance the interests of Indigenous peoples; and

(e) contribute to clean growth and to meeting Canada’s objectives with respect to climate change.
