The financial impacts of continued lack of gainful employment are going bite me this week in a way that I'll likely never get to recover from. It's nothing damning, just inconvenient, and potentially problematic. As an adult, I loathe not being able to adult because the job market is this terrible.

So, 500 jobs lost out of Stelco, about the same amount out of Hamilton Health Sciences, and despite the fact that there's a serious backlog at WSIB and they were suggested to hire 200 more workers, the premier is cutting about 400 jobs and closing offices there too. Fuck you, Ford.

I'm watching "1984". I can't help but wonder if the shifting of some of our language (like how folks speak to avoid algorithmic or behaviour filters) isn't some manifestation of Newspeak. So many things sanitised or concepts enveloped under one banner, that language and cultural flavour are lost.
