Don't know why people report stuff like this instead of just asking "your company is one of the biggest AI users now. How many of your staff moved from 5 day weeks to 3 day weeks?"

The same people saying we’ll have a universal basic income funded by the AI abundance are also against taxing billionaires to fund basic healthcare, won’t let their staff have paid time off when sick, and regularly do layoffs to boost share prices. I don’t think they’re gonna share the gains.

at one point segregation and anti miscegenation laws polled off the charts in south carolina. should we have been ok with a democratic candidate who said black people were less than human so we can "win first"? no? then why the fuck is it ok to do this against trans people? hint: it isnt.

I agree with this. The people who keep screaming that it's "cheaper" eat the same depressing, boring food, day after day. I'm not making chicken and rice and sandwiches and stew for weeks on end. Sure, that would be "cheaper" in the long run. But you're eating like a dog.

Yesterday I learned that pepper comes from peppercorns. I actually don't ever use pepper (or salt) so I don't own any and never did. Neither of my parents cook so I never saw it as a child. If I saw it somewhere else, it never registered.

I dig this "hand o' the artist" page by @paulchadwick.bsky.social
From "The Building That Didn't Explode" short comic by Paul Chadwick, (in Concrete vol.6 "Strange Armor") concluding to the author's contemplations about coincidences/theodicy with a fourth-wall-breaking view of the his hands drawing out "empty" comic panels and his pen leaving a blot of ink on the page.

Captions read: "Control the things you can. Me, I can control a comics page fairly well. I'll stick to that. Oops. Where's that Whiteout?"
