Announcing the NINTH Annual Weird Christmas Flash Fiction ConThology!
I like... weird... STUFF! and I cannot lie… Sorry, I’m a little punchdrunk from, ya know, life and such. You ever go through so many changes in a year or so that you forget who you used to be and where your life’s motivations used to come from? Yeah, me, too. Life, man. It’ll be the end of us all.

As always, there's no time like the present to wear an antlered crown and a moss cloak and become a new god of the old woods.

TAPPING THE SIGN I need to mute this discourse lol This isn't about "omg how dare you ask for my drafts" This is about how AI author(s) are being caught by a bunch of anthology editors: their inability to engage in the editing process. THEN they were asked for proof of writing.

There goes the neighborhood—in @trailofleaves.bsky.social’s new story “We Like Yellow Houses Here.” kaleidotrope.net/spring-2025/...
When Nadine arrived at her new home, toting three suitcases and a cat basket with no cat in it, its yellow paint gleamed like butter in the summer sun. But after three days of rain, a survey revealed streaks of lime green, scuffs of brown, and a skirting board of ankle-revealing bareness to which moss and dandelions had attached themselves in merry spite.

Your body isn't punishing you, it's expressing its needs. When your muscles scream, back contorts, two legs won't hold you, hair grows into a thick coat, and face shifts into a savage canine maw, that means your body needs you to run wild through the forest under the moonlight.
