When the dog fountain unveiled years ago, the usual suspects whined that it was declasse and cheesy, but it's now a beloved piece of city architecture. People pose with it, bring their dogs to visit it (the dogs all love it of course, it's a fountain) and just generally have a lovely time around it.

And so it continues... Our economic debates seem utterly disconnected from the reality. That reality: This is an economy mostly creating healthcare jobs, and it does so month after month, and everything else is just noise.
Line chart titled "Effectively all of the net job creation has been in healthcare and social assistance, and jobs are shrinking in the rest of the economy" showing change in non-farm payrolls since January 2025 through September 2026. Healthcare and social assistance added 998,000 jobs with consistent growth throughout the period, while the rest of the economy lost 222,000 jobs, meaning all net job creation came from healthcare. The rest of the economy showed particular weakness from May through August 2025 when losses reached 218,000 jobs. This striking divergence reveals an unusual concentration where one sector's growth of roughly 48,000 jobs per month has offset persistent contraction across all other industries combined.

At one point in the video he actually reads the following portion of the Defoe poem.
 The Romans first with Julius Caesar came,
  Including all the nations of that name,
  Gauls, Greeks, and Lombards, and, by computation,
  Auxiliaries or slaves of every nation.
  With Hengist, Saxons; Danes with Sueno came;
  In search of plunder, not in search of fame.
  Scots, Picts, and Irish from th’ Hibernian shore,
  And conquering William brought the Normans o’er.
  All these their barbarous offspring left behind,
  The dregs of armies, they of all mankind;
  Blended with Britons, who before, were here.
  Of whom the Welsh ha’ blessed the character.
  From this amphibious ill-born mob began
  That vain, ill-natured thing, an Englishman.
