My friend's office is next door, I wasn't sure where she was at the time. Just heard from her and thankfully she is unharmed. What is happening in Kyiv right now is truly horrific. Millions of people are at risk of dying at any time. I'm not quite sure this really comes across, abroad.

This is what I do when COVID surges. I studiously avoid large indoor crowds, and I minimize dining out. I mask on public transit. I snort Viraleze 1-4 times a day - safe and effective. If I feel in any way dodgy, I gargle with mouthwash containing CPC (not for daily/chronic use). 2/4

The “jaw-dropping” El Niño currently heating up the planet has burst through the highest temperature ever recorded for the phenomenon, several months before its expected peak.

I have quantified measles deaths globally on behalf of the WHO since 2012. We attribute any death within 4 weeks of a measles case to measles. Measles is immunosuppressive and the proximate cause is often a secondary infection that would otherwise not have led to death.

Having managed many large outbreaks of Norovirus in large hospitals I can attest to how ferociously it spreads! Literally like wild fire. People would get sick often without any contact with sick patients or their rooms strongly implying airborne spread. Has important implications for control.
