I spoke with director & producer Ivy Meeropol about her documentary “Ask E. Jean” & framing the story of E. Jean Carroll, the gonzo journalist, advice columnist, & larger-than-life TV personality who sued Trump twice, won, & this week FINALLY received $5.6 million awarded by a jury in 2023.

E. Jean Carroll didn't just "accuse" Trump of sexual assault. She won a civil lawsuit against Trump for sexual assault. A jury found that Trump sexually assaulted her. She deserves for us to call it what it is.
"Justice Dept. Is Said to Open Criminal Inquiry of E. Jean Carroll Over Trump Lawsuits
The investigation is said to center on whether Ms. Carroll committed perjury in civil lawsuits against Donald J. Trump, whom she accused of sexual assault."

I dunno. Maybe because that's a stupid thing to want?
films and series have filler characters, it sucks for the viewer it takes up space but doesn’t add anything to the story. I tend to skip through these scenes manually. So why Isn’t there a way to deselect scenes of certain characters on Netflix or pretty much any content viewing platform, and have that configuration be applied throughout the show. Begs to as what about experiencing the web in general? why isn’t there a way to instantly see a website how you want to experience it, what information should or shouldn’t be there, how it is organized and it instantly adapts to your needs and wishes. It gets better over time. I don’t think this is scifi level thinking, it feels close. An autonomous and highly adaptable UI, it makes me hopeful that digital experiences can become more beautiful and intuitive

2/ In 2001, Borsook said tech "libertarianism" reflected an adolescent mindset, with a craving for unchecked independence & resistance to constraint. She warned that tech libertarians wanted an anti-human world that worked more like a computer. From "Cyberselfish," a book based on her 90s writing:
from cyberselfish by paulina borsook: It's an inability to reconcile the demands of being individual with
the demands of participating in society, which coincides beautifully
with a preference for, and glorification of, being the solo comman-
der of one's computer in lieu of any other economically viable be-
havior. Computers are so much more rule-based, controllable,
fixable, and comprehensible than any human will ever be. As many
political schools of thought do, these technolibertarians make a
philosophy out of a personality defect.
