It is amazing Blake Snell ever pitched a complete game no hitter. Not because of his stuff, which is filthy, but because, once ahead in the count, he is a compulsive nibbler. Like, it’s an illness. 90 pitches in 3-2/3 innings. Zheesh! #NLDS

And what anti-authoritarian parties should learn from this experience is that the very first priority once in power is to deliver concrete improvements for the people, not to find "common ground" with the opposition. Srsly, Job 1 is delivering on promises, not finding "unity."

If we quickly render the moon uninhabitable—more uninhabitable—can it mean we stop using it as an excuse not to more aggressively solve resource problems on earth… or do we just turn it into a penal colony or internment camp?

I know the strategy on ABS challenges is supposed to be based on the inning and leverage, but it also needs to be based on players and their documentable knowledge of the strike zone. For instance, Mookie, you can challenge in the 1st if you feel it. Pages—never allowed to challenge before the 9th.

“Nearly a dozen botched executions in recent years should have suspended executions long before now.” Bryan Stevenson is absolutely right, but I think we should all stop using the word “botched.” Botched is what happens when you try to cut your own hair. This is a systemic & cruel failure.

Baseball in the Rob Manfred era is obsessed with the NBA model & its TV money, de-emphasizing the importance of the regular season, adding more layers of more-lucrative playoff games… and then the MLB cuts deals that put half the early rounds on marginal streamers in the middle of the work day.

First off, “our FORT???” But if that’s not enough to signal that Trump’s thing about “We had them under surveillance” is just more stolen valor & bald lying, BBC reports “the operation was not intelligence led.” www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live...
Text from linked guardian story.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, the US president, Donald Trump, praised British law enforcement for their efforts, describing "the arrest in the UK" as
"fantastic".
"We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort, and working with the British worked out great," he said.
Trump's comments suggest that the suspects had been under careful surveillance for a long time. But his remarks are undermined by the fact the men were able to get so close to RAF Fairford, with the suspected plot only appearing to be foiled by a member of the public by chance.
