Nicola Willis is making up shit about the shape of the books, using tobacco tax to pay for tax cuts to landlords is just the start, they'll demonise smokers to sell this too, then gambling seems obvious. Next we'll see the privatisation of prisons and social welfare. Scary times #NZPol

My neighbor told me coyotes keep eating his outdoor cats so i asked how many cats he has and he said he just goes to the shelter and gets a new cat afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding shelter cats to coyotes and then his daughter started crying.

If sick here, it's not flu. It's covid.
WasteWaterScan Dashboard for my area. Covid: spiking up at 4,000 units detected in the wastewater: "high." Flu: absent from its chart. Labeled "low." RSV spiked up to 30 units in late Sep/early October, but is nigh absent now.

Putting the rights of minorities to a referendum is bad. A lot of people treat rights as a zero sum game, so often the majority will vote against the interests of the minority because they think that increased rights and protections for minorities means fewer for them. I will fight that so hard.

I'm really pissed that Craig Rennie has pretty much had to do the media's job of analysing party policies. Analysis has now shown that if you are under 44, you will be far worse off under National. Why were all of the critiques done by a union economist? Why does the media just parrot shit?

#NZPol The hardest working person this election was Craig Renney. Without him we would not know how little the foreign buyers would bring in to cover Nats tax cut cost and that the much lauded $250 tax cut would only go to 3000 families

Nats-ACT-NZF is poised to bring in the highest-doofus government in the history of this nation, a ridiculous proportion of spanner-brained cockfellows, venomous undercants, and fully dazed bassoons. Parliament buildings will fold themselves inwards from the cringe of it. #nzpol

#NZpol Couldn't GAF if Hipkins has health insurance personally, but I absolutely GAF Luxon wants to balance his tax cuts on the back of benes, the elderly, the disabled who need the public health sys the most, only keeping up current spend, when it needs far more, while giving landlords *millions*.

Okay, so as Air NZ CEO, Luxon banned uniformed crew having visible tattoos (racist), canned the Pink Pride flight (homophobic), vetoed a safety ad because dinosaurs aren't real (fundy), and biffed the Air NZ wine awards because he doesn't drink (tedious & patronising)

My cartoon in today's www.stuff.co.nz & in glorious print www.thepost.co.nz/a/nz-news/35... The NZ campaign trail is ablaze! But, & I'm not the only one who's noticed, there's been very little talk of various communities... Do we matter?
Cartoon title: Election 2023: Do these things matter?

Six panels. 1st one "Our disabled & vulnerable communities" A woman dressed up ready to go out is denied access because of a flight of stairs.

No.2 "Our young and old neurodivergent communities" two people face each other talking one has a different inner world to the other one. They look the same but they process the world differently. (Note I am neurodivergent).

No.3 "Our older generations" two older people dancing to music. One white male with his golfing gear on and a Māori wahine sharing space together having fun.

No4. "Our mental health across the country" A map of Aotearoa is straddled by a huge patient monitoring system. Jumping up at certain parts of the land.

No.5 "Our low-paid communities". A person is pushing a humungous boulder with a small child on their shoulders and carrying their shopping.

No.6 "Our environment". NZ is experiencing four seasons in one day, but ramped up to the hilt.
