Dared to take my big bro and niece freshly flown in yesterday from UK to the beach last night. Woke to this today. Perfection. I popped in for a swim and it was glorious

Classic NZ, white sand beach, blue sky, clear crisp wai, & bush.

Waiting for all those who clutched their pearls for weeks over Wellington Mayor getting a wee bit tipsy with mates to show the same shocked concern for Chris Bishop’s inebriated mouthing off at the music Awards…..no?

Don’t get me wrong, the Catholic Church is soooooo wrong and problematic but… He wasn’t the worst one and it has HUGE impacts politically and human rights. The fact that he ended his stint in life with a call for peace in Gaza “etc” was huge.

Is anyone else feeling weird after growing up catholic (kura etc) … belief or no belief? I’ve kinda thought some of his stuff lately was pretty powerful from a world POV. Just chatted to my mum, lots to process.

It’s always so jarring when people don’t get that human rights apply to everyone regardless of citizenship. Human rights are inherent and arbitrary arrest is considered a bad thing for all humans everywhere.

Out of interest - why the hate on Meghan Markle? I’m not invested I just don’t get/what she has done to deserve it? I noticed it bc of her new show. It’s not not a but randomly ended up watching it with a kid who loved it, simple instruction to “make” some basic stuff. Am I missing something?

I’m pleased to say the Police have just announced they have removed Destiny Church groups Man Up and Legacy from their register of accredited providers and they will no longer be referring offenders to them. Good sense prevails. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3606...

I saw an e hoa at woolies earlier… Slipped a brown paper bag from the bakery into his cart, & a jar of marmite and an apple on top. his reaction was perfect, he instantly got “it”. 🤣 In my silliness / uselessness this is what I recorded of it while peeking around the corner.

Blurry grey picture of nothingness instead of actually taking a video.

PSA - today is the most important religious day of the year. It’s Shrove Tuesday. Aka Pancake day. You have to eat them it’s the law. (Most recently catholic but like many Christian days it was “borrowed” from pagan festival, although the Slavs did it way better - it was pancake week)
