This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

The IDF have destroyed even more of Tallouseh and Bani Hayyan since I shared the below images in July. Between 8-12 and 8-24, Sentinel-2 imagery shows the few remaining buildings in Tallouseh and a large amount of buildings in Bani Hayyan have been demolished. A large burned area is visible as well.

A Sentinel-2 satellite image from August 12 2026 shows an area of southern Lebanon centered on the villages of Bani Hayyan and Tallouseh. The IDF's "Yellow Line" is marked to the west of the villages and the village of Markaba is largely destroyed to the east. Tallouseh has a large amount of destruction visible and Bani Hayyan has a small portion showing demolished buildings.
