An independent Alberta would have absolutely no money to begin with & its architects have been begging Donald Trump for financial help. Let's play that out: legally, a separation referendum can't be held within 12 months of a provincial election. That pushes it to 2028. Trump will be gone #abpoli

The Canadian GRADE, whether for beef, frozen berries, or whatever, is NOT the ORIGIN. It's a 'GRADE" system. Check packaging CAREFULLY — they're getting SNEAKY. Look on the back, the bottom, the sides, wherever… And if it doesn't specify, IT'S USian. Guaranteed! ➡️ Put it BACK, UPSIDE DOWN. 🫡 🤣

I'm exceptionally boring but, yeah, I still don't want a record kept of every person I've contacted and who contacted me, how long we talked, what device I was using, as well as a complete picture of my movements, including locations.
As many legal experts have noted, it is very unlikely that this provision will survive a judicial review based on legal precedent, both in terms of our own Supreme Court that has established metadata that links online activity to one’s identity is considered private, and jurisprudence from European courts that have found the same.

If you were hoping for the government to provide some insight into this via the government’s own Charter statement on the bill, you’re out of luck. The Charter statement on Bill C-22 is oddly silent on the issue of metadata retention, which makes the government’s claim that this bill is Charter compliant very hard to believe on its face.

The Carney government is about to take a massive step toward violating the privacy rights of every single Canadian. So far, they have yet to listen to the myriad Canadians who have been warning against this bill. Now that American lawmakers have entered the chat and added their voice to the concerns being raised, perhaps the Carney government will actually listen. Otherwise, Canadians can bid farewell to digital privacy and cybersecurity as we have known it.
