"I'm thrilled to report that after the massive uproar created by DC, Maine, Alaska, and other states with Ranked Choice Voting, as well as the peerless efforts of Rules and Bylaws Committee members like Michael Kapp who waged a long uphill fight, the DNC rejected efforts to ban Ranked Choice Voting in presidential primaries.
The fight is not over here, though. States (and occupied territories like DC) that use RCV in our primaries still have to put together delegate selection plans, and if those plans incorporate RCV, the same people that tried to ban it will try to reject our delegate selection plans until we buckle. We've won this battle, but the war is not over.
We are very lucky that we have indefatigable fighters like Michael, David Atkins, and others on the DNC to fight back against these efforts, and we are also lucky that we have a Chairman like Ken Martin who listens to members and wants to empower states and state parties." - Dante Atkins

While stellar cartography has previously been seen in the STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION episode "Lessons" as a redress of the oft-used science lab, this new multi-level set was created for STAR TREK GENERATIONS. Initially intended to be a spherical room, stellar cartography was ultimately a cylindrical, two-level set due to the relatively low budget the filmmakers had to work with.

Portugal’s late dictator António de Oliveira Salazar was fed an “absurd” fantasy by aides to make him believe that he still governed the country for two years after he was replaced because of failing health, a new book claims.

Mr Salazar ruled Portugal from 1932 until 1968 when he suffered a series of health problems and was replaced as head of state by Marcelo Caetano.

Until his death in 1970, aides gave Mr Salazar a fake version of the newspaper Diario do Noticias each day which carried fictional stories to make it seem like he was still in charge.

Each night, the editor would create a special edition of the newspaper - just for Mr Salazar - to remove any reference to Mr Caetano and his government.

Ministers would attend meetings with the ailing dictator and even make disparaging comments against Mr Caetano, according to the newly-released book
