Leda from Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave

Eva Eskelinen @evelmiina.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Fire emblem: I can’t help but notice, being Leda and threatening to murder every other character in story time, but chapter start and we all hang out in Dagsion like nbd. Last night when we tried to kill each other? That was crazy. Anyway, buddy, *of course* I’ll find your sister’s keepsake.

One time I did cartoon horses for a client, a show pitch, and I received notes from big time horse girls (compliment). I never met them face to face but I learned a lot about horses, the notes were -locked in-. I still appreciate it

The art critic's opinions about illustration weren't really convincing to me, if anything a bit weird to, what seemed to me, feel so threatened by "people's art"

Fire Emblem: Story pacing in Leda's route is rocky, and I'm being nice, but I'm enjoying her entourage which is a group of girls, dad and a bard twink who would say "you can't sit with us" at cafeteria

Mildly interesting - this is how I've been making traditional illustrations in past few years. I sort of question if there really is point in doing it traditionally, because I solve so much in digital and maybe digital would even look more snappy as final, but it's nice to work off screen sometimes

Eva Eskelinen @evelmiina.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Super interesting. Background painting work has me comparing several screens and agonizing over color and it still often feels like a bit of a coin toss how it'll come out in the final. Color grading job would end me

Tinkering away another wip. Ink and poster colour in progress.

Aahhh…. Torn between whether I should get designers gouache from Holbein or poster colour from Nicker. I’ve had Winsor & Newton before, but would like to try Holbein. Poster colour is slightly more affordable though and I like them, I just wonder if they’re not that friendly for long lasting pigment

Here's just a pile of (mostly old) Zelda things I've drawn. There's more but, I picked the ones I had colored. Some are more than 10y old

It's crazy I still remember Zelda's 25th really well, Skyward Sword and the anniversary concert of that time. Maybe one day if I live to be old Zelda's 100th will be injected directly into my brain via content liquid (streaming is now a concept that exists in bloodflow)

I'm occasionally subjected to a reddit where people ask if this and that is AI & when it comes to art it's always "I got this intricate painting from fiver for 100 dollars, artist delivered the next day is it AI?" Feels bad people get scammed but on the other hand, be a little more serious

I probably wasn’t allowed to watch Legend 1985 as a kid, because it might’ve been deemed too scary (skeletons and such) by my mom. Anyway I just watched it and it kinda rules, I love the look of the film and Tim Curry is definitely the highlight Also, is this not inspiration for ocarina of time

Eva Eskelinen @evelmiina.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Not Tim Curry too... Twice in my life a role he did had an unforgettable impact on me, Ferngully fully altered my 6 year old mind and Rocky Horror Picture Show, when I was a teen.

I'm reading Tad Williams's Dragonbone Chair. It's fun to see the traces of influences for Robin Hobb and GRRM, both whose works I really love (and who are very distinct writers themselves). Been ages since I've read fantasy like this, it's good summer reading.

I've been sometimes told I'm intimidating, but it's just that I try to keep healthy distance to socmed. But I've made good friends too & one reason I stay online is I want to keep connections. If someone local wants to meet up, or there's event/things like that, just saying hi, is always welcome.

Watching House of the Dragon still reminds me of how much I care about asoiaf, even if it never concludes. Reading A Storm of Swords still sticks to my mind as one of the most memorable books, at the time I read it it blew my mind. Anyway the show is fine, it’s not the greatest but pretty good time

Wuthering Heights was so good I read it in a day and a half. Unfortunately I am like Lockwood and just as nosy to know more what happened to everyone in the story, hence, had to keep reading. It’s bleak, funny, unhinged. Banger dialogue.

Finished Frankenstein a few days ago, that was a really good, textured reading. Enjoyed it! Thing is I queued so many books months ago in library and now they're all suddenly available. I'm aboard gothic train. Next stop is Wuthering Heights

i just realized i never posted this here Cover art for 'Scholar's Codex' @tuneandfairweather.bsky.social 30x40cm ink on claybord

a black and white scratchboard drawing depicting a scholar sitting at their desk, writing something in a book, lit by candlelight.
In the foreground, we can see piles of books, a cat sleeping, and an armillary sphere. In the background, shelfs are filled with books and and various artefacts. Drapery covered in stars and constellations hangs from the ceiling.

Change in energy levels is drastic, now that there's a young cat in the house. She can't quite comprehend why would I sit at the computer for 8 hours a day instead of doing catnip and mayhem but girl, I wish.

We adopted a rescue kitty! The name she was given is Aruba, and I think we'll stick to it. She had kittens earlier this year, all of which were already adopted, but she needed a home too. I'm so happy we could take her in. She's a really sweet lady, very polite.
