Not too much progress to report on the Namarti, but I did some salvage work* on a used bin Purple Sun of Shyish this week that I’m willing to call tabletop ready, except for the base. 🏷️ #WiPWednesday AoS #AgeofSigmar Warhammer Age of Sigmar *Mostly filling in gaps. Lots of gaps.

The fact that every major news outlet includes vocal tics and hesitations when it’s a woman saying “like” and not when it’s a man saying “um” is itself wicked telling.

Solomon Asch, born September 14, 1907, in Warsaw, Poland. When he was 13, his family emigrated to New York. He learned English, studied psychology, and eventually became a professor at Swarthmore College.
In the 1950s, he invited groups of college students into a room for a simple vision test. He showed them one line, then three more, and asked which was the same length. The answer was obvious. Only one set matched.
Almost everyone in the room worked for Solomon. The one student who didn't work for Solomon was the actual test subject. One by one, everyone gave the same deliberately wrong answer. Then it was the real student's turn. Faced with an entire room confidently saying something that was obviously false, the test student would go along with the group 36.8% of the time. They would run 12 rounds of this game. ~75% of test students gave at least one wrong answer.
Then Solomon changed one thing. He had just one person in the group break with the majority.
Suddenly, conformity dropped dramatically.
The dissenter didn't even have to give the right answer
simply knowing you weren't the only
for you to stand by what you thought was right.

I was today years old when I learned Dolly Parton recorded Woody Guthrie's song "Deportee (Plane Wreck At Los Gatos)" in 1980. It's a heartbreaking song about immigration and specifically deportation plane that crashed in 1948 killing dozens of Mexican "bracero" workers. Her version is beautiful💔
