A new Handbook of Evolutionary Psychology has just been published, in which it is claimed that the human species is polytypic: not only is race biologically meaningful but the races are distinct enough to be considered subspecies. Published by Elgar. In 2026.
Chapters in Part III take stock of the current state of evolutionary psychology, by casting wider attention to other social and behavioral sciences and assessing the field's influence on them. In Chapter 11 ('Evolutionary psychology and anthropology'), Heiner Rindermann identifies three major forces that oppose scientific anthropology: Religion, National Socialism ('Nazism'), and woke leftist ideology. Ironically, in this sense, woke left ideologues, who include most anthropologists themselves, geneticists, and other university academics, share much in common with the Nazis in their common opposition to scientific anthropology.
Rindermann's extensive review of the literature leaves no doubt that humans are genetically polytypic and contain different biological races or 'subspecies' At the end of the chapter, Rindermann delivers devastating rebuttals to all potential arguments against the notion of races/subspecies among humans.

I've written to the govt about a concern causing real frustration across North Herefordshire: the practice of "farmwashing," where supermarkets use misleading marketing to suggest produce comes from British family farms - when it has actually come from overseas.
Dear Angela,

I am writing about a growing concern in North Herefordshire that is causing real frustration among farmers and consumers alike: the practice widely referred to as “farmwashing”, whereby supermarkets utilise misleading marketing tactics to suggest produce has been sourced from British family farms - when it has actually come from overseas.

This issue has particular resonance in my constituency. North Herefordshire is home to many family farms, and local residents care strongly about supporting British food and farming. Yet there is increasing concern that this public support for British farmers is being manipulated and misused by major supermarkets who engage in “farmwashing” tactics, profiting from imagery and marketing that creates a false impression of where food comes from. These practices not only undermine the ability of consumers to make informed choices and support British producers, but also place yet more strain on small family farmers at a time when many are already struggling to cope with the devastating impacts of climate breakdown-induced extreme weather events, and with rising fuel and fertiliser costs due to the illegal war on Iran.

I would therefore be grateful if you would work with retailers and standards bodies to ensure that food labelling is accurate, clear, and not misleading to consumers - including in relation to country of origin and packaging design. I also ask that you consider whether further guidance or stronger rules are needed to prevent branding practices which create a false impression of British or local origin, and that you meet with me and farmers in North Herefordshire who have been directly affected by farmwashing practices to discuss any further support needed from government to combat this issue.

I would additionally welcome the opportunity to discuss not only food labelling, but the wider pressures on family farms, including the impacts of climate breakdown and the need for greater government support to m…

Trump historically wore Brioni, an Italian luxury company that makes suits in Italy. Here he flashes a Jos. A Bank label, a US company that long offshored its production to China and Bangladesh. They carry an associated label called Joseph Abboud, which is made in US. Curious he didn't choose that.
Donald Trump in a navy suit. He's opening the jacket, so you can see the label. A close up of the suit label says Jos. A. Bank.

I'm not against compulsory voting, I just don't think it would actually do much other than increase the number of spoiled ballot and votes for joke candidates. In terms of the voting system I'd prefer they campaign for Ireland style STV.

SV, which was apparently the suggested voting system, is even worse than AV and isn't proportional. Compulsory voting would just mean a few more spoiled ballots and votes for Binface, which, meh. None of the above is daft for national elections.

Hess was one of the most prominent Nazis who believed in the occult, and the regime swiftly turned against mysticism in all its forms. At this point, Wasserstein’s book comes up with one of its finest sentences. After 315 pages of Trebitsch’s life, it’s not even that strange:
The flight of Hess and the round-up of the mystics ensured that Trebitsch would be given no opportunity to conjure three wise men out of the wall for the benefit of Hitler.

Well, if it’s 6 October, it’s the 83rd anniversary of the day the world was deprived of Ignatius Trebitsch-Lincoln, who was born a Hungarian Jew, elected to the House of Commons, spied for Germany in both world wars, and eventually declared himself the 14th Dalai Lama

A good fresh Star Trek take on those fake isekai title jokes
A tumblr screenshot showing a post and two reblog responses, reading:
1. "star trek would be the ideal fictional universe to get trapped in because you'd explain your situation and they'd be like yeah makes sense. no further questions. fortunately we can use the mysterious warp signature emitting from this system's icy moon to counterface with the solar radiation and slingshot you back home"
2. "I'm from a universe where your world is all a work of fiction." Benjamin Sisko, nodding. "That happened to me once."

seeing conservative men debate how to dress online is very funny. can't dress up or wear interesting casualwear bc you've made any visible interest in dress to be a sign of homosexuality. but you feel the need to dress better bc you've linked dress to respectability. a prison of your own making.

It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

Discworld QOTD, from Going Postal
Moist had worked hard at his profession and considered himself pretty good at it, but if he had been wearing his hat, he would have taken it off right now. He was in the presence of a master. He could feel it in the hand, see it in that one commanding eye. Were things otherwise, he would have humbly begged to be taken on as an apprentice, scrub the man’s floors, cook his food, just to sit at the feet of greatness and learn how to do the three-card trick using whole banks. If Moist was any judge, any judge at all, the man in front of him was the biggest fraud he’d ever met. And he advertised it. That was . . . style. The pirate curls, the eyepatch, even the damn parrot. Twelve and a half percent, for heaven’s sake, didn’t anyone spot that? He told them what he was, and they laughed and loved him for it. It was breathtaking. If Moist von Lipwig had been a career killer, it would have been like meeting a man who’d devised a way to destroy civilizations.
