cosmo canyon in particular hits me very strangely as it has some of the most beautifully rendered stuff in it but also has very confused ideas about what cosmo canyon is even supposed to be in the context of this world/story, because it wants every town to also have the vibe of a shopping mall

another random thought about FFVII REBIRTH: making every town in this game into a bustling tourist trap is incredibly weird! it flattens the pacing and variety but also does really odd things to the underlying storytelling especially in places like cosmo canyon

I enjoyed The Odyssey (2026) but I have one historical nitpick. The phrase “Jiminy Christmas” is a minced oath for “Jesus Christ”. As the story is set around 1200 B.C. it is unlikely that Odysseus would have said the phrase even once, let alone the dozens of times he says it in the film

People always call it difficulty, but what people appreciate about silksong, dark souls, mina, is just that it actually asks you to interact with the game mechanics(i.e. you WILL learn how this boss fight works, or you won't play anymore) and that's in contrast to AAA games that smooth out the ride
