Did you know The Librarian has an arch nemesis (in reality actually an X-Men villain) named The Vanisher? I usually post this comic book panel when talking about him but it is part of a full page comic spread and could be mini Librarian story in of itself.

The Vanisher in an orange scaled jumpsuit and outlandish pink cowl holds a stack of books and proclaims "I am the Vanisher and I take what books I want". A jeans jacket dude looks on in askance

8. Of all the many interdimensional portals to be found in the British countryside, the 'Green-Lane-As-Tunnel-To-Paradise' type of interdimensional portal is definitely one of my favourites.

A green lane in mid-Cornwall, tunnelling towards the sea and, possibly, heaven. Right at the end of the portal you can just make out two figures who, after hurrying to catch them up, I found out were ghosts who died here in mysterious circumstances in 1938 and are now stuck not unpleasantly in the space for eternity or until they find some way to avenge their deaths (which they told me "doesn't seem massively likely at this point).

I just found out the Palawan Peacock Peasant exists and I thought I ought to tell you.

The tail is a sweep of speckled feathers with iridescent blue dots ringed with black and then cream; the belly is black, the back covered with iridescent blue feathers, and the head, which sits atop a neck somewhat shorter than a peacock’s, is black with white stripes and a dapper black crest.

I like modern art galleries because they usually have paintings that would work as cover images for weird fiction books. This is ‘Chimera’ by Victor Brauner, 1939, as seen at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg.
