I’ve been a media witness to two federal executions. One was Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh. The other, a week later, was a drug kingpin named Juan Raul Garza. My conclusion after watching both men die: The death penalty should not exist. Period. It fixes nothing, and it erodes our souls.

…Because, the story goes, we need the votes of people who *don’t* want full trans rights. Because THEY have that purity test, and must be catered to. So trans people and the people who love them should just suck it up and watch their rights taken away. For some mythical voter’s (yep) purity test.

My work only requires me to come in 2 days a week but I'm in every day. People think I'm conscientious but I only do it as the work toilets are great and they have fantastic, quilted loo roll. I'd come in weekends to shit then too if I could.

When I set out to fact check “The Cities That Said Yes to Drugs” which argues that harm reduction may increase overdoses, I expected some cherry picking and misdirection. But not to find basic math errors and debunked right wing talking points asserted as fact in the Atlantic’s print edition.

Atlantic's anti-harm reduction screed riddled with errors
A close read of "The Cities That Said Yes to Drugs" found errors in basic arithmetic as well as more deliberately misleading elements

Ugh, Cowboy Junkies updated the album art on The Trinity Session. Not a fan. I wish Apple wouldn't replace album art (this goes for books too, hate it when a book gets a cover with images from the "Now a Movie!") (Original on top, new on bottom)

Asking the right questions is just the first step. Actually getting support, especially for moms in rural Missouri, is where providers say things get even harder.

I think we should all agree that when Trump is replaced we remove his name from everything (including seizing any private property with his name) and build one building and name it after him. A public restroom in DC. We can call it the Trump Dump.

I had Sprint's ION telephone/internet plan. I liked it a lot. But they never charged me. Used it for a few years. When they shut it down I got some free marketing tchotchkes and a $400 refund check, for a service that never charged me. Anyway, I'm the reason Sprint had to merge with T-Mobile.

What is amazing about eliminating carbon release is just how much can be accomplished after. Cheap energy that can be installed anywhere where needed without a supply chain to fuel it can lift so much of humanity. God I hopw we don't piss it away, we're so close.
