Hey Apple News why do you do this crap? I blocked the channel so I don't want to see any of their crap. Not constant reminders of their crap.

Ugh, Cowboy Junkies updated the album art on The Trinity Session. Not a fan. I wish Apple wouldn't replace album art (this goes for books too, hate it when a book gets a cover with images from the "Now a Movie!") (Original on top, new on bottom)

lol "split into several smaller projections" is underselling this. The US 1983 set has 108 projections. Not only is the earth not flat, it's not a very good sphere either. But I can't wait the conspiracy theories that come out if the US resumes it's adoption of international feet from survey feet

Shout out to the Netherlands team that arrived in Kansas City this week. We prepared a little something for you. When it says "Hail 2-3 inches" it doesn't mean the depth, it means the size of individual pieces. And 2-3 inches is 5-8 cm. a 120 mph tornado is 193 km/h
Screenshot of a severe thunderstorm predition with peak intensities of tornado winds: 120-145 mph, Hail: 2-3.5 in, Wind: 65-80 mph

Whelp, time to file my annual "Hey Apple learn to parse ISO 8601 times correctly!" bug. Been filing it for years (originally on Twitter), maybe they'll fix it this time. If your ISO8601 DateTime has a T separator it ignores the time and treats it as 0.
Shortcut that gets current time, formats it to ISO 8601, then converts back to date time. 2 dates are returned one for noon, one for midnight.Showing using Apple’s Adjust Time to create the ISO 8601 stringReplace the T in the string with a space and it works.

Sign erected in Australia to block the view of a property owner that cut down somebody else’s trees to improve their view.

The sign reads:
Tree vandalism has occurred in this area
The Suny Harbour Federation Trust protects and manages this land for the enjoyment of the public.
Acts of vandalism like this deprive all of us of the natural environment.Photo caption:
Fun fact for our international followers: If someone in Australia cuts down a tree on public land to improve the view from their house, the local government will install a sign to block that
view again

Sign reads:
THIS VEGETATION HAS BEEN ILLEGALLY
VANDALISED
People found damaging native vegetation will be prosecuted
This sign will remain in place until vegetation has regrown to its previous extent.
Help us conserve and protect our Sunshine Coast environment by reporting acts of environmental vandalism to 5475 7272

Oh look we're back to eternal Orange alerts again
The Homeland Security Threat Advisory System:
Red - Severe
Orange - High
Yellow - Elevated
Blue - Guarded
Green - Low

It was discontinued because DHS was scared to lower it below Orange.

Something wonky with the categories UI. I turned off sports, tried turning off Gaming and it wouldn't let me. Dragged it a bit to see if that would do it and ended up with 2 gaming, no sports.

VXUS is a vanguard ETF composed of non-US equities. I've invested in it for a number of years just to diversify from just US stocks. This is the first year I can remember VXUS outperforming the S&P 500, and it did it by a lot.

He also noted that many of his friends had encouraged him to “find Jesus before I go.” Despite not being a believer, Adams noted that the “risk-reward calculation for doing so looks attractive” and so he included a statement claiming to “accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior.”

“The part about me not being a believer should be quickly resolved if I wake up in heaven,” he added.
