@bbcnews replaying a clip of Farage claiming he was denied security when it has been established a while ago that he actually had… just like the other Party leaders, shows how far BBC news has fallen. Incredible!

Telks you all you need to know. Most people don’t get past the first two paragraphs- BBC’s own data shows this and anybody who writes for their news website is well aware. So It’s very deliberate

Just because I strongly oppose any measure to tackle Russian misinformation, doesn’t mean I’m on Russia's side. In unrelated news, one of the few times I bothered turning up for work as an MEP was to vote AGAINST measures to tackle the spread of Russian misinformation...

It is four years today since Liz Truss launched the budget that sent the financial markets into meltdown. Who could have guessed that someone who couldn't find their way out of a room might not be the best person to put in charge of a major economy?

Just me saying that any effort to tackle misinformation must be an attack on Reform, thereby admitting that Reform are helping Russia to spread far right narratives and create dissent and unrest.

This is the face of someone who is ruining the UK. It's not the people the papers want you to think His INEOS has received £166.8m+ in UK/Scottish government support, plus a £230m UK Government loan guarantee, and public support of circa £397m and avoided up to £4bn in UK tax by living in Monaco

Today? Oh, today is the 54th anniversary of French hypermarket Carrefour opening its first store on UK soil in Caerphilly. Obviously. Not all that remarkable in itself, perhaps, but its 6th birthday was one to remember, what with the 40ft, three-ton animatronic gorilla being there...
A large flat 1970s building, unremarkable and beige. Oh, in front of it, there’s a 40ft black gorilla with a huge, toothy mouth, open in a roar. One of its arms is raised to its hip, the other held out in front of it. There is someone sitting in the left hand, with their back to us

. The people of the original 13 states of the USA were fearful of a hateful demagogue rising one day to rule over them. They invented a Congress and Judiciary to check gross overreach of a tyrannical criminal Executive. In cowardice and self-interest, both have abandoned that sacred role. .

UK energy bills are the highest in the World and will get even higher. They are nearly 60% profit. France has Nationalised their Energy grid and their bills are 40% lower, and they still make a profit, and the people who sell them Uranium and Natural gas still make a profit too.

Why is all Government spending is universally classed as a ‘cost’. Proper journalism is explaining the difference between a cost and an investment… or at least recognising the difference.

The UK plans to get rid of the Coastguard Service and turn it into volunteers only, to 'save money'. This will cost lives, and we have afforded it for 204 years. But now it is 'unaffordable'. No it is billionaires who are unaffordable, tax them until there aren't any.

So, there is a precedent for vetoing an MP's resignation Viscount Chelsea (Henry Cadogan) applied for the Chiltern Hundreds in 1842 The Chancellor (Goulburn) refused because, get this, Cadogan wanted to resign to obstruct an investigation for bribery h/t @fascinatorfun.bsky.social and @gazhay.com
Screenshot from the linked article, with the following text highlighted

"The noble Lord had stated, that it was unusual to refuse the Chiltern Hundreds, except on account of mental incapacity, or where proceedings were pending for the expulsion of the applicants from their seats. In this case, however, the House had decided that compromises had been entered into, which had the effect of obstructing the investigation of bribery; "

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivalent of £10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.
