At the same time, he is showing — repeatedly and redundantly — how weak he is. Pete Hegseth can’t win a war so instead he wants to shoot a guy and take over the paper. Go away, loser.

Pete Hegseth should be impeached and removed from office today because he clearly hates the U.S. Constitution. He’s made that clear before, he made it clear last week, and this is just the latest example.

It does appear the "data center eliminated Nazi and otherwise fuckface bots" narrative is basically wishcasting, it does show you how popular getting rid of this shit would broadly be, and that maybe a smart person should run on it.

New, automated speed cameras will mean more Denver traffic tickets
The city expects to bring in $3.1 million more from traffic tickets.

In a twisted authoritarian spectacle, federal agents raided Ilhan Omar's home this morning. Trump has made no secret of his disdain for the Congresswoman – frequently using racist, tyrannical drivel to express an unhinged desire to expel her from the country.

Expand congestion pricing. Implement ULEZ and ZEZ. Low traffic neighborhoods. And just take the parking and do something with it that benefits people. We can do it. We have to.

“how do we win back trump voters in 2026” we don’t. we create an environment where admitting to voting for trump is so socially embarrassing as to render them completely inert. you don’t “win back” trump voters. you demoralize them into staying home. you make it a dunce cap

This is why I'm so in favor of accessory commercial units. Just getting people in the US used to **walking** for a cup of coffee or a sandwich in the neighborhood may finally do something to rid Americans of our terminal car brain.

I'm wary of politicians telling people that we can solve problems by taxing Other People. I'd like to see this framed as an issue of fairness: We're good at taxing labor income. But through an array of tax breaks, we don't tax income from wealth and pass-through income as much. We should fix that.

Would you recommend this for a commuter bike? I have a Giant road bike I use for commuting, & I love how light it is but already want to move to a different handlebar type instead of drop bars so I can ride more upright. Wondering if this would also be a good addition.

Man, imagine you're minding your own business, getting kind of drunk with your friends at a picturesque brewery in Maine, when suddenly John Roberts walks by and you get to start heckling him. Must have felt incredible. That's the dream. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/01/u...
The chief justice used to preside over a Supreme Court whose members were afforded more privacy and freedom than many other public officials. Once, years ago, Mr. Lipson and the chief justice found themselves up the peninsula from Port Clyde without a car, Mr. Lipson recalled in an interview. So he stuck out his thumb by the side of the road and a pickup truck pulled over. He and the nation’s top jurist hopped in the back and hitchhiked back to town.

Now, Mr. Lipson said, he is cautious about introducing his friend to strangers. This year, on an outing to nearby Monhegan Island, people recognized the chief justice as he walked by a brewery and started to chant: You should be ashamed.

Safety alone isn't enough to get more women cycling. Cities must start building cohesive networks connecting the myriad places women need to go. This means looking beyond “Can women cycle safely here?” and asking: “Can women use this network to live their lives?” LISTEN: www.dw.com/en/why-arent...

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

Yes. I think the consensus among US elite pundits and senior politicians that the way to protect liberal democracy is *not* to punish elite figures who violate its rules is wrong. A norm starting at least with the Watergate pardon. The opposite is true. You need to enforce the law and Constitution.

Yeah definitely agree that that’s a very different and more complex issue than paying back wages. I also think that Kevin is correct that Mamdani’s penchant for “just doing things” is refreshing, even if this is a poor example for establishing contrast.

I see what you mean I think. I read it more as a broad statement about the “dem establishment” (aka Schumer or pols of his ilk) rather than a statement about the Biden admin, giving the latter was actually progressive and really did try to do a lot. But maybe I’m missing something.

kenhatesladders.bsky.social @kenhatesladders.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
Yeah get your point, but I think Kevin would probably agree with you on the success of Biden’s admin at a variety of things, this included. Feels like you’re reading some context into his post that isn’t there.

The three cardinal rules of communication: If it’s important, say it simply, repeat it (at every opportunity), and ask as many other trusted people as you can to also repeat it. This is what works. Trust me on this…I’m a communication scientist. Seriously.
