New Merch Alert!! Fish. The ocean's full of 'em. And protecting the ocean is a global job, so we better learn the word for fish in as many languages as we can fit on a tote bag. Support @skypeascientist.bsky.social by getting a *sturdy* tote bag with a zipper (with a zipper!!!) at SquidFacts.net
4 freak-ass fish illustrated on a tote bag. We got a barreleye, a mola mola, a gulper eel, and a viperfish

Anne Carson, SHORT TALKS.
On Shelter

You can write on a wall with a fish heart, it's because of the phosphorus. They eat it. There are shacks like that down along the river. I am writing this to be as wrong as possible to you. Replace the door when you leave, it says. Now you tell me how wrong that is, how long it glows. Tell me.

The Bat is dun, with wrinkled Wings -
Like fallow Article -
And not a song pervade his Lips -
Or none perceptible.

His small Umbrella quaintly halved
Describing in the Air
An Arc alike inscrutable
Elate Philosopher.

Deputed from what Firmament -
Of what Astute Abode -
Empowered with what malignity
Auspiciously withheld -

To his adroit Creator
Ascribe no less the praise -
Beneficent, believe me,
His eccentricities -

Prepping to chat about End Times Fascism. I would like to stress that a bookclub can have two people or two hundred. The only imperative is that you do the reading & talk about it. In the 90s, Purdue’s Books & Coffee club had hundreds of members. Yesterday it was just me & one brilliant friend.

“Like silent naked monks.” A poem by Laura Kaschichke.
Mushrooms

BY LAURA KASISCHKE

Like silent naked monks huddled
around an old tree stump, having
spun themselves in the night
out of thought and nothingness—

And God so pleased with their silence
He grants them teeth and tongues.

Like us.

How long have you been gone?
A child's hot tears on my bare arms.

“Thank you for the good intentions.” A poem by Nicanor Parra, translated by Patricia Rachal.
PONCHARTRAIN CAUSEWAY

Excuse me, I am extremely sorry
I have nothing to do with these unforgettable bridges
I admit they are long. Infinite? O.K., infinite
But I have very little to do with these beautiful sunsets.
Thank you for the sandwiches and the Cokes
Thank you for the good intentions
(And also the bad ones)
My stomach is full of joy:
Can't you hear the thundering of the guts?
As long as there is nobody to prove the contrary
I will go on calling myself myself.

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future
