New Ontario polling we did finds a pretty clear preference for local decision-making. 64% say municipalities should decide where bike lanes are located on local roads. That’s the majority view in every region of Ontario. sharetheroad.ca/news/64-of-...

In my experience: asking about process and tools is very helpful in catching someone out on using genAI, because real artists genuinely LOVE talking about their process and tools. Being vague or evasive about one’s process is a huge tell that they just generated it.

New sign to point at daily—> We do not need A.I. to tell us how to solve climate change. We already know how. Electrify everything and phase out fossil fuels to zero by 2050. It is suicide to justify even one new gas turbine sale in the year 2026 because “A.I. will help solve climate change.”

I also believe we do need distinct laws that separate deepfakes, AI gen abuse content, and actual CSAM, since mashing those together reduces the targeted support given to actual child victims of CSAM and sex trafficking. But this ruling is the exact opposite of that. Ugh.

I have kind of been expecting this since the whole AI thing broke, because if you read the original SCOTUS cases discussing CSAM, they say that CSAM bans are allowed because CSAM always involves the use and harm of an actual child.

And the very same book can be read by generations to come. It can last centuries, literally. It's great.

When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.
