Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

I was at the Tippett studio sale and there were drawers of this stuff. For those concerned about archiving, I understand that most of the important materials had already gone to museums before the sale.

Looking respectfully as we go on the road across Europe with You're Under Arrest's Natsumi Tsujimoto. Illustrated by series creator Kousuke Fujishima.

A monochrome illustration of Natsumi seen from behind and dressed in riding leathers. She's leaning against her motorcycle, and looking into the horizon with a signpost near to her. Athens (Spelled Athen) is marked on the top post.

Another thing about fraternities is that the hazing rituals where slightly older young men would physically, mentally emotionally and sometimes even sexually abuse slightly younger young men have always disturbed and upset me greatly. And it’s really telling that I’ve seen men defend those too

A truly heinous man has doxxed the Cornell victim on X and the comments are predictably vile. Based on countless interviews I’ve done with survivors, the trauma they are subjected to for coming forward is oftentimes even worse than the initial trauma they experienced. There is no real justice system

A man replied to this saying in earnest that women need to get organized and fight for our rights and men will follow. We did that. We do that. We mobilized the largest single day protest in global history on every continent and yet I have fewer rights than my mom did at my age.

Jodorowsky's Dune (unproduced, circa 1975): Harkonnen Castle on Giedi Prime, art by H.R. Giger Although this film never saw the light of day, this artwork, which predates Alien (1979), inspired both Prometheus (2012) and Dune Part 1 (2021).

Dorottya originally only wanted professional photos of her new outfit, but she spotted a Messer in Aczél's studio and asked if she could use it for her shoot. We quite gladly said yes.
