ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @ashley-c.bsky.social from TechAtBloomberg on advancing the Composites proposal to Stage 2 at @tc39.es today 🎉 Composites are objects that are compared by value instead of identity. They are an evolution of Record & Tuple proposal.
const pos1 = Composite({ x: 1, y: 4 });
const pos2 = Composite({ x: 1, y: 4 });
pos1 === pos2; // true

const positions = new Set(); // the standard ES Set
positions.add(pos1);
positions.has(pos2); // true

Holy crap. Lit team member @rictic.com used Claude to create a "How lit-html renders" video and it's frankly... jaw-dropping. Yes, it's a lot like my talk intro'ing lit-html, but that was a good talk! This is deeper, more clear, and has great visuals. lit-html-series-v1.a1.demo.rictic.com/renders/

Fully electric aviation has some major challenges (mostly: batteries are heavy and don't get lighter as they get used up) but I love the idea of decreasing aircraft emissions through a hybrid approach, perhaps as a step toward new, clever solutions for fully electric air transport in the future.

In CSS, "shrink wrapping" backgrounds to text content with `text-wrap: balance` is a huge pain, but with a little `position-anchor` trickery, we can now make those backgrounds snap to the right size of the wrapped text. codepen.io/editor/shsha...

Here's the transcribed text:

Web components + anchor positioning + popover API = I love writing CSS and leaning into the platform. Live long and learn 🖖.

**Frontend & Platform Vibes**
- "I'm that weirdo that loves writing CSS."
- "Stop reaching for a heavy framework when native browser APIs do the job cleanly."
- "Web components are little islands, but they are *our* islands."
- "The industry is subtly shifting and the world is changing... time to check out a new native CSS feature."

**Hot Takes & Tech Thoughts**
- Skeptical of AI-generated comprehension debt in pull requests.
- Re-reading *The Mythical Man-Month* and applying surgical team models to modern engineering.
- Embracing vanilla web standards over abstract complexity.
