My son, in second grade, still has a wildly disproportionate idea of what things deserve apologies. He'll walk up to us like "I have the hiccups, so I'm sorry if I interrupt you by accident." But I fully believe he could also run over one of us with a dirt bike and go "AWWW you ruined my trick."

TIL there's a Safari bug that messes up border radius on outlines with negative offset. Image shows the same button in Chrome, FF, and Safari. Chrome and FF render the inner outline with the proper radius to match the outer border; Safari doesn't, so the corners are visibly mismatched.

In 2012, I was working in a restaurant that had done a Groupon, and everyone who bought it came in on the very last day it was valid. It was madness. This old drunk guy got super pissed his order was taking forever and yelled at the manager, "I'M GONNA BLOG YER ASS!" I just love that sentence.

Today I had to leave work, drive to my in-laws' to pick up jumper cables, drive back home, put my wife's car into neutral, manually push it out of the garage, and jump-start it, all in a ~30 minute window. And honestly, all of that was still less stress than MacOS and Safari have given me today.

I can't stop seeing the new Android clock icon as a lock being picked

Completely inconsequential thing I believe anyway: a Top-7 list is better than a Top-5 or Top-10 list. 5 picks is too few; you're just arbitrarily dividing the S-tier. 10 picks is too many; you're just throwing in mids by the end. Top 7 is just right.

The more I design for both light and dark mode, the more I'm convinced it's actually better to let the designs drift apart a bit. Sometimes it's better to just do what works best for the mode you're in, rather than chaining one design to the other with a rigid 1:1 token swap.

I love that random() low-key kills the last reason I had to keep using Sass, along with a ton of JS layout/design use cases. Almost everything I had to use JavaScript and/or preprocessors for when I built my website a few years back will soon be possible in pure vanilla CSS.
