In moments like these I think of this picture:

Just tried it with the same results lol

Asking google "is it 2027 next year"
Answer: "No, 2027 is not next year: 2027 is two years form now, as the current year (2026) is followed by 2027, and then 2028. Next year will be 2028, with 2027 being the year after that. (May 1, 2026)"

Continuing the front end reactivity series! I charted common reactivity strategies by their reactivity depth and talked about shallow vs deep reactivity. It's a fun deep dive- I hope you check it out! jschof.dev/posts/2026/5...

A chart detailing reactivity depth for different javascript reactivity libraries. Details can be read in the rendering in the linked blog post.

Really proud of the visualization I put out yesterday in my new series. Take a look!

A graph with two axes: a coarse fine-grained axis and a deep shallow access. About two dozen JavaScript libraries are located on this graph based on their placement on those two axes, with a color also that indicates their placement on the push pull for activity strategy spectrum.

So funny. Design is _hard_. Also reminds me of the World Chess Championship's 2018 logo:

An abstract design of two people suggestively intertwined while holding a chess board between them.

Look closely... Do you see that the I is slightly raised above the font baseline? Why? Why would they do such a thing?

Bbc headline reads: artemi II crew feeling great after completing history-making moon mission. But all the lower case i's are slightly elevated compared to the other characters in this font

Fox News is journalistic malpractice. It's a propaganda machine run by extremists foe extremists

A news aggregator regarding no kings:

Center: no kings protests draw large crowds to rally against Donald Trump

Left: no kings protests held nationwide, with flagship protest in Minnesota

Right (Fox News digital): 500 groups with $3b in revenues are behind the no kings protests and communist call for revolution

This is honest to goodness looking like he has Parkinson's. This is the way my grandpa used to stand, his head hunched over, and it got worse and worse until he died. This would explain his (if it's possible) even more uncomprehensible sentences, his MRI that he hasn't released.
