Re-upping reccomedation: Everything @kbspangler.com has put out. There's something there for everyone. From cyborg detective novels to sword and sorcery comics to manic ninjas hanging out with ghosts across multiple formats.
The Rachel Peng novels were my favorites, and a good starting place imho.
