Hitler, presumably
A copy of today's Yorkshire Post partially covered by The Daily Telegraph, which leads the headline to read "Asylum village hails".

The Telegraph's main headline is "Palace hits back at Diana's brother" (who isn't Hitler from what I recall)

That time of year again... processed meats day
A banner hanging from a shelf edge in Sainsbury's advertising the two flavours of Fridge Raiders, with "That time of year again..." and "Chicken for the road?" above and below the product images. At the top of the banner is the Nectar price offer of £1 instead of £1.70. The shelves themselves are quite messy, presumably as people realise it's that time of year again

Last July I went to hospital with a blood infection and gangrene after staying at that exact YMCA. Had a finger amputated. Whilst in hospital, the YMCA evicted me as I was now too disabled to live there. Was made homeless for three months. They probably didn't tell you that bit.

What is it about hot weather and deciding it's a great idea to take things to the tip? Doing heavy lifting on a day like this was a terrible idea (and for other reasons as well, but still)

Sash windows are rare in the UK for houses. Many original sash windows have been replaced with non-sash uPVC units. The windows we have are incredibly inconvenient for adding air con units to - even a portable unit with an exhaust hose is more difficult to install.

Utterly batshit - so a 16 and 17 year old can have sex, vote, join the military - but not "scroll" after 8.30pm? This government has completely lost the plot, the overreach to individual liberty is insane. Let parents choose what they want for their kids.

Zappit vouchers have to be the worst possible way to entice people with free samples. They don't work on self-service checkouts and I have never been able to get one accepted on a staffed checkout. It genuinely puts me off every buying from involved brands ever again.

Gov straight up admitting that any attempts at gender policing are unworkable because "There is no type of official record or document in the UK which provides reliable evidence of sex." So bin it??
13.179 Where there remains a genuine concern about the accuracy of the response
to a request for an individual to confirm their sex, then the service provider,
person performing public functions or association should consider what
action is proportionate in the circumstances. There is no type of official record
or document in the UK which provides reliable evidence of sex. For example,
sex on passports and driving licences may be changed with or without a
Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC), and birth certificates may reflect the
acquired gender of someone who has a GRC. Therefore, it is unlikely to be
proportionate or practical to ask for further evidence of a person’s sex.

Greg Davies takes over from Cum
A Google News screenshot of a Radio Times story from 19 hours ago that reads "Taskmaster legend Greg Davies confirmed to take over from Alan Cum…", underneath a picture of a funereally dressed Greg Davies (black suit, black tie, white shirt) smiling through the pain whilst presumably hosting an award behind a pair of microphones.

The ellipsis at the end of the headline presumably reveals what Alan Cum used to do.
