There’s something strange about being told a game “gets good after 40 hours” by someone who managed to play 40 hours of it in less than a week. At that point, I’m not sure the 40 hours are evidence that the game eventually won them over. It's evidence that the game had them from the beginning.

I've seen some takes describe Alan Wake 2's entire narrative as "up its own arse" and I really think that's such a misaligned read on the prose that it misses the entire point. The writing's total embrace of dream logic is not one built from ego but to serve a vessel for finding meaning in abstract.

Tekkaman/Teknoman is an odd series in that the main character is voiced by a much younger Toshiyuki Morikawa (Sephiroth/Dante) and the English dub has Bryan Cranston voicing characters. Both are fantastic ways to watch with lots of changes to the story depending which version you see.
