Was about to employ an old-fashioned term as a joke but I felt sure it now has an alternative meaning and... bloody hell!
The term "rum cove" has a couple of meanings:

- It was historically used to describe someone who is odd or untrustworthy, often implying a bit of a rogue or cheat.

- In modern usage, particularly on the web, it has become a code phrase for incitement to kill, often used by people on the militant right regarding far-leftists.

One of the best things I ever did after I was raped was get super pissed off - it gave me the motivation to hound my attacker for 10y in criminal and civil court. do loads of victim advocacy, change policy in the city 1 was attacked in. get news coverage about it, and get a bad guy in charge at the DA's office removed from his position As a counselor certified in anger management, have to correct people on the myth that "anger is bad." It's not - it's the thing that loves vou that mobilizes you to deal with a problem. The issue is whether it consumes you to illness or loss of control, or you choose to deal with i t
inappropriately.
We need to stop wringing our hands over victims getting righteously angry simply because we have unworked issues with our own anger, or with women. It's not their problem to be tasked with navigating for US.

Didn't quite get the outcome I was looking for (GRAND CHAMPION) but I'm immensely proud to have been one of the semi-finalists in this year's @bbnya.bsky.social
“The Mercy of Tenderness is a glorious, messy, heart-pounding cocktail of epic fantasy, murder mystery, and the hottest WLW tension since Shades of Rose. Isiýrube is a multi-layered character trying to serve Church, State, and Sapphic Yearnings simultaneously. The siege ramps up, the body count rises, the emotional stakes go feral, and [this reviewer] stress-ate an entire family-size box of cookies during the finale. I have no regrets.”

The cover of the book is gritty leather, various butterflies in wild colours spin and sup. The novel's title is the burnished gold of a burning city.

"Just protecting children" "‘Paedophile’ diplomat smuggled out of Britain in US ‘dawn raid’"
‘Paedophile’ diplomat smuggled out of Britain in US ‘dawn raid’
The Daily Telegraph14 Sep 2026By Emily Smith
AMERICAN officials secretly flew a US diplomat out of Britain without informing the police after he was accused of possessing indecent images of children.

The diplomat, working for the embassy in London, was flown to the United States after child abuse images were allegedly found on his phone.

American authorities are said to have sought a court order in the US before storming the diplomat’s home in Putney on Aug 25, seizing him and taking him to an American air base for removal.

US officers have no powers of arrest in Britain, and there was reportedly no formal request for the man to be extradited. British authorities were apparently only informed after the diplomat’s removal.

Ministers are reportedly in contact with the US embassy over the incident, which could further strain relations between London and Washington.

A source told The Sun: “They should have told Scotland Yard when they carried out the raid, and certainly when they found material.

“Instead we think they have taken him to a US air base and flown him 4,000-plus miles to where his brother was being investigated. We think it was a dawn raid before they then took him to the base in a US military convoy.

Flight data showed that one day before the raid, on Aug 24, Kalitta Air flight K49709 flew from Chicago to RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire.

The same plane then flew from Fairford at 5.33pm the next day, arriving at Dover air base in Delaware at 7.44pm local time before departing to

PMC COVlD Update, Week of Sep 7, 2026 ◾️33 states/territories with outbreaks (see Alt) ◾️Highest levels nationally since March 5th ◾️1 in 86 Americans estimated actively infectious ◾️Peak expected soon, but some caveats THREAD (1/5) 🧵 pmc19.com
The US has at least 33 states/territories with COVlD outbreaks. These include Alaska, Hawai’i, Guam, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

There are likely outbreaks in additional states. The summary statistic of 33 only includes counties with observed data, rather than estimated data. For example, South Carolina and Oklahoma likely have outbreaks, but monitoring is poor.

I currently have two active sequels in the works -
The Seventeenth Clerk, sequel to The Thirteenth Prince, returns us to the Empire and its expansionary vision
The Salvation Which Remains puts our feet back on the Paths of the Gods
Roots That Clutch is YA Horror
Sustaining Victory is a lefty Jack Reacher
Echoes of the Last War is, sort of, alternate history
