There has been much written about the beseeching tone of campaign fundraising texts, but I need to know who decided this was an effective fundraising strategy, because it seems to be getting worse (see example attached). Did they draw the line at six pleases? Was four too few?

That there is someone, somewhere that is getting something (food! Medical care!) that others have to work for and that this *must* be unfair and undeserved is so infuriatingly ingrained in our culture. Oh, and Medicaid enrollment is down 6% since last May despite a 15% increase in applications.

One of my tasks for today was to briefly summarize Medicaid, what it covers, and why its important. It's now 5:45, I've written 50 words, my browser tabs are in shambles, and I have a newfound appreciation for why so many Americans don't understand the importance of longterm support services.

Mitch McConnell disappeared for three months & kept his full salary. Disabled people are forced to prove they’re “still disabled” just to remain in legislated poverty. Folks on SNAP must re-apply and prove they’re “still poor”. Republican Senators don’t even have to prove they’re alive.

One of my favorite undergrad assignments was writing a short story in the style of 2 of the authors covered in American Literature from 1865 to 1945 (with Sean McCann). I chose Fitzgerald and Hemingway. (In other words, this is excellent)
