The Harvent this year, #HorrorWritersChat, was good. Too good. It seems the townsfolk stopped running. They accepted their fate and no longer fear our extra sharp scythes. Time to move on to another town where the people still value their lives. You can taste the desperate hope in every cutlet.

#HorrorWritersChat The harvest was good this year. Too good. The bounty of pumpkins overtook the town, suffocating the streets with thorned vines. They began to twist upwards, encasing the town in a verdant cage. Soon the leaves will black out the sky; no axe or blade able to make a dent. Help us.

Q3: #HorrorWritersChat The harvest was good this year. Too good. People came from several towns over just to buy wheat. The townsfolk seemed content and why shouldn't they? It wasn't THEIR son they buried in the field. It wasn't THEIR screaming watering the soil. Still, there was always next year.

#HorrorWritersChat The fruits were sweet, the grain abundant, and the town would not want for a long, long time. Everyone was overjoyed at their change in luck. As they did, ol’ Farmer Hansen remained stoic. He knew the truth, the price for a fine yield. It was in his cellar, and it was WRONG.

#HorrorWritersChat The children groaned & the corn rustled. A stalk of corn sprung from each pore in their skin. From each stalk grew 3 or 4 fat ears of sweetcorn. Ms. Dillon opened the kindergarten door wide to welcome the thresher. Tonight's corn boil would raise much-needed funds for the school.

Of course, as it sat there kicking it's tender feet clad in new patent leather shoes, we didn't have the heart to tell it. What happens after. To the things that are picked.

The labyrinth of corn fields in the small town of Gareth heeded a warning to those who entered. "Most don't come back out!" A harvest fed by out-of-towners. "It's just a corn," some said. "A fun way to celebrate the season!" Their screams sirens to the locals who knew better. #HorrorWritersChat

Q2: #HorrorWritersChat Such a cool question. In the horror WIP, I'd say any semblance of justice or rightness is decaying with every body being found mutilated in ways incomprehensible. I'd say the MC and his relationship with a coworker is decaying, but violent, immediate breaking doesn't fit.
