Saw someone mention Kamelot earlier, so I'd do a horror story inspired by their track "The Haunting (Somewhere in time)" The concept would be an anthology about two souls who are reincarnated over and over again, only for their love to end in tragedy each time they meet. #HorrorWritersChat

Fantastic pitch. I'd read it! 👏👏

Killer picks here. Love me some Halestorm and Kamelot. 🤘

The members of my favorite band of all time, Poets of the Fall, find themselves booked to play a gig for the Lovecraftian gods of my horror mythos. If they can make them dance, they'll be allowed to leave with their lives. I believe in them. 🙏 #HorrorWritersChat #AuthorSky #writingcommunity

I've got "musical pairings" that I do on Substack. Every post includes a song you can listen to afterward, as the proverbial credits roll. Sometimes I'll include music or lyrics in the story itself as well, like my piece titled "Crossroads Rock and Roll." #HorrorWritersChat #AuthorSky

Here we go! 🤘🎸 Bradley Ramsey here, writer of cosmic horror and horror mashups that terrify and intrigue in equal measure. When I'm writing horror, I like to have some EDM or what I lovingly call "gut-wrenching dubstep" playing. Music as violent and eclectic as my work. 😌 #HorrorWritersChat

It’s been a rough week, and I know I’m not alone. I’ve seen and heard about other’s struggles. At a certain point, it starts to feel like it’s all just one big loop. Which begs the question… bradleyramsey.substack.com/p/how-do-we-... #writingcommunity #poetrycommunity #poem #poetry #narration

Shout-out to the Old (Real) Ones, haha. 😆 Love this response from my friend, @gunsmile.bsky.social. 👏👏

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I love this, haha. Since I do narration and voice acting as well, I feel like my dogs deserve a shout-out for dealing with my occasional shouting or crying into the mic while recording. 🤣

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I've spoken on this topic elsewhere, but most people don't realize how much power their words hold when it comes to feedback. A supportive teacher, partner, or friend can mean the difference between a story getting finished and a writer giving up. So, shout out to Brian for being a real one. 👏👏

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Damn, this is a good pitch! So many layers to it.

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I love this. My grandmother unfortunately passed before I was old enough to really start writing stories like I do today, but I'd like to think she would have loved my work.

110

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

This makes me so happy to see. Love it when writers find support from their friends, family, spouse, and fellow authors. 👏👏

010

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I think King and Stine were fundamental authors in shaping my love of horror, but my current stories would not exist without the support of the writing community here and over on Substack. The feedback, support, and genuine engagement mean everything to me. It keeps me going. 🙏 #HorrorWritersChat

0112

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

It's a tie for me between R.L. Stine and Stephen King because both authors were fundamental in shaping the horror that I myself write today. I read Stine first with Goosebumps, but I read a lot of King as I got older and really started writing my own stuff. #HorrorWritersChat

091

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

My ideal panel would be about instilling dread into the reader. How do you create true, lasting horror that stays with your audience? If I could invite anyone, I would bring in Stephen King, R.L. Stine, Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, Clive Barker, and Mary Shelley. #HorrorWritersChat

I judge my weeks based on whether I make it to the #HorrorWritersChat on time or not. Seeing as how I'm late this week, it's not going great. 😅 Jokes aside, hello! Bradley Ramsey here, writer of cosmic horror and other horror genre mash-ups. Going to do my pitch in the post below 👇

I have seen not one, but two references to Parasite Eve during the #HorrorWritersChat, and that tells me once again that I have found my people. 😌

My hand jolts towards their neck. I can't stop it. Bones snap. Flesh stretches until it tears. Their body is torn asunder. Broken down so it can be rebuilt. Rebuilt in HIS image. Where others felt fear, I felt only reverence. True divinity unfolded before me. #HorrorWritersChat

1184

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Given that my current parasite-focused work is cosmic/Lovecraftian horror, the infected are all meant to serve a much larger purpose beyond our understanding. In general, the book (and by extension, the trilogy) explores the illusion of choice and control on a cosmic scale. #HorrorWritersChat

0134

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

So, my current WIP is going for both. I'm nothing if not ambitious. 😅 Mental horror is that, once you're infected, you don't know when or how you will "turn." Physical is that when you do "turn," you'll mutate into something capable of spreading the parasite based on context. #HorrorWritersChat

0114

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Bradley Ramsey here, a writer of cosmic horror and currently working on a WIP about an alien parasite. A big influence for me is John Carpenter's The Thing and the entity from that film. I love parasites that hide in plain sight, waiting just beneath the surface. #HorrorWritersChat

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Got swept up in work meetings. The true form of horror, let me tell ya. 😅 Better late than never, though: in my current WIP, I would say that trauma is the thing that binds my six POVs together. It's the common denominator: past, present, and future. #HorrorWritersChat #WriteSky

050

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

My bath towel was lying on the bed, which wasn't entirely strange. What was strange, however, was that the dinosaur stitched upon it was gone. "Where's the Bradleysaurus?" I asked. The ground shook beneath my feet as a guttural roar broke the silence. #HorrorWritersChat

0214

Bradley Ramsey @imagine2create.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Such a good question. My current WIP is a cosmic horror, but it's set in the near-future. It's the world we know, warts and all, but now society is also facing a new threat: an alien parasite that infects hosts, lying dormant until it can use your body to spread itself. #HorrorWritersChat

Hello fellow horror authors! Bradley Ramsey here: writer of cosmic, sci-fi, and comedy-horror. I had a bath towel as a kid with a Brontosaurus stitched into it, except underneath the image it said "Bradleysaurus." New story idea: Hunted by the Bradleysaurus." 😂 #HorrorWritersChat #WriteSky

Something I’ve come to value a lot in recent years is stability in any form (people, places, my career, etc.). So, my advice? Cherish them, value them, and most importantly, take shelter beneath their wings when you need to catch your breath. Life’s a marathon, not a sprint. 🙏
