Every time Putin speaks, global news outlets breathlessly cover it as breaking news, ignoring that he hasn't uttered a word of truth in his lifetime. His speeches serve a single purpose: delivering propaganda. Imagine if the media actually exercised critical judgment.

The UK is on the European Continental shelf and 7000 years ago Britain was connected by land to the European mainland. It would be equally absurd to claim that Corsica or Sicily are not European, because they are separated from the European mainland by water. Are we all sick of this ignorance now?

Farage has always had a clear view on the 'right' Brexit: - when he was supporting Boris Johnson's deal - when he was condemning Boris Johnson's deal - when he was pushing the Norway model - when he was pushing the Swiss model - when he was pushing the Canada model etc... 🤡🤡🤡 #rejoinEU

Two days later and future UK-EU relations are no longer a top story. But they'll be back. So, some thoughts. 1️⃣ Brexit taught us that leaving the EU was not a single event. It was a process. It's not binary, “in” or “out”, “not done” or “done”. The details really do matter. There’s a lot to do.
Text saying "UK-EU relations are not like climbing out of a swimming pool and jumping back in again, over a composite image of, on the left, a boy climbing out of a swimming pool, and, right, a spread-eagled man diving into a swimming pool

77 million Americans voted for national suicide in 2024. We're seeing it unfold right now: The economy vandalized, the military weakened, politicians bribed, tech run wild, immigrants terrorized, and government goon squads committing murder. Vote against all Republicans. It could be our last chance.

For those of us who remember David Campbell Bannerman's and David Davis's early-2016 calls for 'a Canada-style relationship' with the EU, it would be deeply funny if Canada now moved much closer to the EU and the UK Govt then pushed for.... 'a Canada-style relationship'. (Won't happen, but still.)

Those who think AI is going to largely automate white collar jobs in the next couple of years don’t understand the nature of work - @sarahoconnorft.ft.com nails it www.ft.com/content/4aad...
It is not obvious that AI agents could eliminate the need for this type of work, since it involves persuasion, contestation and the exchange of tacit knowledge and experience that is spread across different departments, and often exists inside people's heads rather than in a neatly codified handbook on the intranet.
