I spent a while in Leeds recently. A friend there used to drink in a pub across from Jimmy’s, the big hospital. One night a nurse there told him Jimmy Savile was a necrophiliac, but not as a bombshell revelation. More like it was something everybody knew. Something no-one would pursue either.

As a pragmatic centrist, I read the Niemöller poem differently. After each group mentioned I pencil in what percentage of the population they are, and if it’s a small number I cross off their names as disposable. Poetry is fine but math wins elections!!

Something incredibly frustrating is that so many political commentators treat every election like it’s the only one. “If you don‘t vote for the anti-trans Democrat you’ll get an actual Nazi.“ Well, maybe the next choice won’t be between two buckets of shit.

Actors I will watch in anything include EH, Margo Martindale, Stephen Root, Jackie Chan, Laurie Metcalf, CCH Pounder. Ethan H also seems to be a decent, thoughtful fella.
