Seems this also plays into some folks’ obsession with being perceived as entirely “self made” (by others and, more pathetically, themselves). It’s never their team or public services or even genAI that helped give them a leg up. That they have to share credit for anything gnaws at them relentlessly.

I’d urge indifference. Sony is simply a company trying to sell entertainment stuff and none of its bad decisions will endanger anyone’s wellbeing, tbf. It doesn’t owe us anything but we also don’t owe it our money. PS is just a brand and people don’t even need to be angry to stop supporting it.

I thought Palworld looked so gross and plasticky on fancy hardware but seeing my fiancée play it docked on a steam deck with lower res and simplified/washed out textures, it almost looks like a late ‘90s PC game.

I’m more concerned with ensuring the digital games I buy remain playable in perpetuity and Sony is hardly reassuring that. PC does, though, so a digital-only PS6 will require far greater exclusives and/or transformative experiences for me to buy one, yet they continue to gut their best dev talent.

I believe construction budgets simply go a lot further with the building on the right because the materials are significantly cheaper and they can build more buildings/units with the finite funding they have. (At least according to my friend who’s an architect for low income housing projects)
