I went to see the Ray Bradbury library in Waukegan recently and they'd made this story into a beautiful video. I started writing fiction as soon as I finished reading Bradbury's "The Veldt," so watching this story from his childhood and seeing his typewriter and manuscripts meant so much to me.

This remains one of my all-time favorite speculative fiction poems. I'm sure a lot of spiritual teachers wish they could deliver a call to repentance as directly to the moral jugular as this little mermaid poem.

some creatures you might find in the woods.
Two panels; top is of some glowing sprite type creatures huddled together in the grass and the second is a big black serpentine creature with blank yellow eyes moving slowly through the forest.

But because the predominant conception of Nazis in science fiction is little more than a costume, it's been very easy for people with no media literacy to figure that out. If someone "looks cool," that's enough for idiots to keep idolizing them … even when it's clear they're fucking fascists. 2/2

Children's stories reinterpreted by horror writers
Edgar Allan Poe's the three Little pigs:
A trio of inept home builders brutally murder a drifter.

Stephen King's Hansel and Gretel:
Siblings kill an eccentric old lady and a botched home invasion

Mary Shelley's sleeping beauty:
And a cursed girl's corpse is weirdly obsessed over and reanimated
