One of the iconic birds of Quinta Mazatlan in the Rio Grand Valley is the Plain Chachalaca. A large chicken-like bird, it lives in the treetops eating fruit and insects. As you can see from the map below, it's range just reaches southern Texas. 🐔🐔🐔 #chachalaca #Texas #birdsseenin2026
