It *is* interesting to see how Polanski failing to win a seat is cast as a defeat so severe he must be removed yet Farage got cover time after time, year after year, as leader of his parties despite being beaten again and again. Curious what it shows is about bias.

Very pleased with Pocognolis 1st game as Scotland boss. Still lots to improve, ropey 1st 20 minutes or so but that 2nd half as good as I’ve seen Scotland as a team for a while. Finishing needs to improve (standard for us) but some of the play looked modern!

The mayoral discourse in Berlin continues to be *utterly* unhinged. If the AfD had topped the polls the narrative would be “finally the people have been heard!” but since the Left won, it’s all “Queer Islamofascists and Woke are trying to conquer us with, er, affordable rents!”

Howard Kirk, AI pioneer, on the defeat of privacy. From 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐻𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑀𝑎𝑛 by Malcolm Bradbury, 1975.
From 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐻𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑀𝑎𝑛 (1975) by Malcolm Bradbury:
'You are really interested aren't you, Myra?' 'Of course I am,' says Myra. 'It's called The Defeat of Privacy,' says Howard. 'It's about the fact that here are no more private selves, no morc private corners in society, no more private properties, no more private acts.' 'No more private parts,' says Barbara. Mankind is making everything open and accessible.' 'Even me?' asks Mvra. 'Oh we know all about you,' says Howard, You see, sociological and psychological understanding is now giving us a total view of man, and democratic society is giving us total access to everything. There's nothing that's not confrontable. There are no concealments any longer, no mysterious dark places of the soul. We're all right there in front of the entire audience of the universe in a state of exposure. We're all nude and available.'

For me there is no mystery to these people. I grew up in a street with plenty of them, where the British National Party felt confident enough to visit our doorsteps. There is no dignity to their hatred and it has been indulged far too long. It has already cost us enough time, enough lives. Enough.

A particularly infuriating aspect of this A.I. bullshit is that nobody seems to remember that we all got along just fine without it for centuries. How are we all suddenly incapable of reading and understanding written words? Of creating art? Of telling stories? It’s madness.

2) and 3) are intimately linked, in that the BBC (the organisation that really matters in the modern environment) treats 'claims by rival parties' as the operating frame for how it covers everything. The failure from Labour and the Conservatives to say 'this stuff is bad' is really, really bad.

More likely that they’re too cowardly to confront the issue while being acutely aware their on-the-ground enforcers are only brave enough to get physical with women at vigils and pensioners with placards, and who symptathise and relate to the people shutting down Dover and attacking hotels anyway.

They always use the argument of “there’s only x seconds of it in the y hours long movie!” like they know they’re in the wrong. Like, bro, if the contribution of AI was so insignificant, why include it? Why not just get a human to make it? It was basically nothing, right? Then what’s the problem?
