Loved that performance tonight, in control and varied the pace of the game but had a physical edge as well. Ideal to win the league against them. In the great words of Don Samuel…

“I think it’s been a piss-take from the start. There’s a lack of professionals, and it feels like the club is being run by a group of friends”

And it’s a few years on but he’s also written two of my favourite football books. Danish Dynamite about one the most exciting sides you could see, and the ither about what modern football has lost

Imagine this coming from Sepp Blatter. That’s how bad things are now with Infantino & FIFA, that Blatter is a voice of reason
Screenshot of the following statement:
There are also concerns with player welfare, given the increase in the number of games and Blatter, who was recently cleared of fraud by a Swiss court, is not a fan of the tournament, or next year’s expanded 48-team World Cup. “Havelange once told me that I made a monster when I created this wedding between TV and football,” he told me. “But now it’s all too much. There are too many games. And too many teams in the tournaments. Sooner or later, we will have 128 teams, like in a tennis grand slam.”

And whatever you think of Blatter, or indeed United Passions, it is hard to disagree too much with those sentiments.

The joys of modern football, and the dictators favourite egotistical wannabe football overlord overseeing the game summed up well for me here. Couldn’t give a shit about the sport, just the content now (& the cash grab of course)
Screenshot from interview with known idiot and autocrat arsekisser Gianni Infantino talking about Cristiano Ronaldo - “It is not the only tournament that would like a bit of the stardust provided by the most followed person on Instagram. There is talk of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner being loaned to one of the 32 teams in the Fifa Club World Cup that kicks off on 14 June. The Fifa president, Gianni Infantino, said as much last week to the online streamer IShowSpeed. “There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup … who knows, who knows?”

Wee wee me absolutely loved that Brazil team, had all their names on my subbuteo World Cup 82 edition! (I know I’m sooo old!). That Scotland team had so much talent too, but just no match

I laughed, but also because it’s true…
post joking (but also true):

Lewis Ferguson, what a man.

Captained Bologna to their first trophy in over 50 years. Only 2nd Scottish player to lift the Coppa Italia.

Steve Clark:

I’ll give him 10 mins once Kenny McLean is tired.

This post definitely hits for me. Miss films where people looked real, and with actors who were genuinely interesting
Screenshot of a post stating: Actor bios in the 60s and 70s: He was an amateur boxer and truck driver before joining the merchant marines and was discovered in Cuba where he was in jail for assault.
Actor bios today: His dad was an investment banker and his was a model. He attended Yale.

This Barça side are a great watch, but they’re not going to be an ‘easy’ watch as a fan. Still, it’s in keeping with the heritage!

#ForgetTheAlamo is one of the best books I have read. Eye opening on the real history, and shows how some things never change, especially the lies white supremacists tell themselves. Amazing work @cltomlinson.bsky.social, @realjasonstanford.bsky.social & Bryan Burrough

Also puzzled by this? Is he meaning doesn’t want 1:1 now as he speculating to accumulate type thinking? Same as Bartomeu?
Barça 60 million euros above their budget, and Juan Laporta stated in September “club is not at 1:1 because we don’t want to be”

That new Milan anniversary kit is a classic beauty, & great to see a legend like Franco Baresi show it off exuding the same sheer class
