Subtitles aren’t just for deaf or hard of hearing players. They’re important for players in loud environments (who can’t use headphones), non-native speakers who rely on text to follow dialogue, and many neurodivergent folks who struggle to focus or process audio quickly. Just to mention few.

Writing tip no. 10: read and reread your sources until you hear voices, then write a deeply human story about your historical subjects. Readers want to learn about real people, making real choices, in real circumstances, in real time. Make your actors complex and multi-dimensional. "Humanize"!

My other popular opinion is that in-app purchases fucked mobile gaming. Yes, there are exceptions; I know them. But the whole “our game gets unplayable after a point unless you buy coins” thing just means that games are no longer fun and developers aren’t trying to balance playability any longer.

A gentle reminder that review scores mean nothing. They exist solely because boring people like numbers. Read the words. Figure out whether the writer's ideals align with yours and for what reasons they enjoyed a work. A lot of my favourite games of all time, most would consider 6 or 7/10 material.
