Dear Lord that's bad. (She can be sacked as Deputy PM - she can't be sacked as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party as that's an elected position).

The case for selling Bruno being a good idea feels like it requires an almost delusional leap of faith to me. This isn’t the Coutinho situation I’m seeing it compared to, not even close

Kemi Badenoch is an odd fish, isn't she? I couldn't be bothered to do most of the things she clearly can't be bothered to do, which is why I'm not in politics.

This is exactly right on what the government is getting badly wrong on the politics and policy of immigration:
Of course, we must tackle illegal immigration, but with 96 per cent of migration both legal and vital for the economy, if that is the main focus of a political battle, we will lose. Boats crossing the channel could disappear entirely, but if people don’t feel better off, it will make precisely zero difference, and the populist anti-immigration rhetoric I hear on the doorsteps and in my email inbox will grow.

Genuine why do a Nazi salute on stage then cry about leftwing people not liking you for being a Nazi? He simultaneously is desperate for edgy online right wingers to love him but psychologically incapable of handling the obvious social consequences of doing things that crowd likes. Pathetic man.

If they were doing this plus supporting more people on incapacity benefit into work it would be a great package. Ruined by the HMT imposed PIP cuts that have nothing to do with work and will put huge numbers into poverty.

Something else that's "unsustainable" is Labour's sky-high-but-wafer-thin parliamentary majority, if it keeps punching its own voters in the face.

I mean, the fluffy blonde mice are cute, but I fail to see the point - beyond massive hubris and "because reasons" - of wanting to bring back mammoths. Their habitat is gone; their species is gone. What good would this do, for humanity/the planet/the actual mammoths?* *The answer is no good at all.

Just looking at the latest YouGov poll - the Tories are on 9% with people under 50. It is not clear to me how this helps with that problem.

I don't think people here have forgotten the murder of Andrei Litvinenko nor the chemical weapons attack in Salisbury that killed one British citizen, left others gravely ill & recklessly risked the lives & health of hundreds.

"But Wikipedia's not perfect! What about [errors/bias/editorial culture]?" I mean, yeah, it's a project to organise the entirety of human knowledge freely. Of course it's never going to be complete or uncontroversial! But it gets closer to the ideal than I think anyone dreamed possible

I don’t buy the idea that the Gaza comments are designed to distract us from the coup. Because not long ago the same people said that the coup comments were designed to distract us from something else. He is chaotic *and* corrupt. There is no pattern or plan. Nothing is impossible.

Here we have a former chair of the Tory party, a man still with a government verified tick, pretending that cases aren't set by the courts. Misinformation in desperate search of a TV booking

it does sound like she endorses angry mobs burning down the homes of criminal suspects
Kemi Badenoch has said "peasants" from
"sub-communities" in some countries are the ones in grooming and rape gangs, and that a national inquiry would seek to identify those in authority who did not act.
"There are some places where, when people behave in that way, a mob turns up and burns their homes down, and then they know that they can't do that sort of thing," the Conservative leader told GB News.
"What for me is most extraordinary about this case is that clearly these people thought that they could get away with it. That is the thing that we should be looking at."

Farage is a better politician than Badenoch because he’s focused on cynically exploiting people’s concerns for his own benefit, while she’s an internet-poisoned true believer in the culture wars
