A great deal happened today. But nothing more important than this. SCOTUS allows Trump Administration to continue sending detained migrants to third countries with which the migrants have no prior connection. Just appalling.

not including Schmitt, there were probably at least a half-dozen people who had to agree that these texts had some kind of significance bc they were sent the day after the announcement about Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, and that proving that Smith was in ATL would get them a Moment

No the point was that the Hawks are an Atlanta team and the date is just after Fanni Willis was accused of (something I forgot). Schmitt was insinuating that Smith, by being in Atlanta, was somehow colluding with Willis. Except he wasn't in Atlanta and was watching the Hawkeyes, not the Hawks.

So plausible process: *Schmitt's staff get texts from security guy Wallach via FBI/DOJ *Look for something incriminating, find a text chain about a Hawks/Hawkeye game *Assume this was the Hawks in Atlanta *Dropped Fani Wallis into the story, with zero evidence So thin! www.ms.now/liveblog/jac...

Part of the issue here is that the poster features pictures of one set of actors (Fani Willis and Wade, in Atlanta) and texts from another (Cooney, a Smith staffer, and Gavin Wallach, who worked security detail for Smith).

Maybe I'm missing something, but I still don't get this. Schmitt was saying Smith went to a Hawks game. His evidence was texts that mention "Jack" but not from Smith (and the Hawks does not have a 109 row). Yes, Smith went to a Hawkeyes game, but Schmitt did not present any evidence of that.

BREAKING: SCOTUS allows the Trump admin to restart third-country removals under a policy found by lower courts to violate federal law. The Democratic appointees dissent. The deportations will be OK'ed at least through the next several months, with SCOTUS agreeing to hear the case in December.
CERTIORARI GRANTED
DEPT. OF HOMELAND SEC., ET AL. V. D.V.D., ET AL.
The application for stay presented to Justice Jackson and
by her referred to the Court is granted. The February 25, 2026
order and judgment of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, case No. 1:25-cv-10676, are stayed.
The application is also treated as a petition for a writ of
certiorari, and the petition is granted. The parties are directed to brief and argue the following questions: (1) Whether
the district court had jurisdiction over Respondents' claims.
(2) Whether the district court had authority to enter classwide declaratory relief and APA vacatur under 8 U. S. C. §1252(f) (1).
(3) Whether the Government's Guidance on third-country removals
is unlawful under 8 U.S. C. §1231(b), the Due Process Clause, or FARRA/CAT and its implementing regulations. (4) Such other
questions that the Government determines are appropriate for the
proper disposition of the case. The Clerk is directed to
establish a briefing schedule that will allow the case to be argued in the December 2026 argument session. The stay shall
terminate upon the sending down of the judgment of this Court.
Justice Sotomayor, Justice Kagan, and Justice Jackson would deny the application for stay.

Vaccines help prevent serious illnesses like measles, chickenpox, whooping cough, polio, and more. With vaccine preventable illnesses on the rise, it is more important than ever to stay protected. Getting vaccinated is much safer than getting the disease, as it lowers the risk of your child being hospitalized or having long-term health problems.
