There is a lot of "oh dear" to go around in the results of this very thorough Pew study on the issues with synthetic samples, but this strikes me as particularly "oh dear" www.pewresearch.org/data-labs/20...
AI polling results can lean on racial or partisan stereotypes

In many cases, our AI poll took beliefs or attitudes that are reasonably common among a particular subgroup and portrayed them as nearly ubiquitous. For example, our AI poll would indicate that:

97% of Hispanic adults are at least somewhat likely to follow the World Cup (while the actual share is 43%).

A #WarOnWalking. A war on biking. A war on public transit. A war on any transportation choice other than driving. A war on better cities. But a war on cars? Hardly. Cars still get most of the space, rights, budget, prioritization, etc. And any effort to add more choice is immediately attacked.

The WAR ON WALKING has taken many forms around the world. It’s often as simple as how we signal who space is and isn’t for. Once our eyes are opened to all the ways we’ve prioritized cars over people, we can’t unsee it. Frustrating photo contributed by @stadsplanering.bsky.social. #WarOnWalking

The thing the government refuses to grasp is that trains are often in competition with people's cars - which have no formal demand management. So I worry that reservations, like peak prices, create friction that just pushes people into their cars

Holding people who use the same mode of transport as someone who has committed an antisocial act responsible for that individual's behaviour is a clear logical fallacy. That we don't apply this standard to car drivers, but regularly do to people who ride cycles makes this textbook #motonormativity.
A photo of an inconsiderately parked hire bike with the comment:

"I’m all in favour of hire bikes in principle but idiot cyclists who park like this give the rest a bad reputation. It only needs a molecule of common sense …"
