This is outrageous, despotic shit and everyone who played a role in it should lose their place in polite society. Show us the warrant. Who asked for it? What did they claim? Have there been grand jury proceedings? Who was in charge? And what judge, if any, signed off on the search warrant?

$625,000 is such a hilariously small number. It's exactly how you'd expect we'd let a great public service die. To put that amount in perspective, it's only twice what we spend to make sure Lisa Goodman has a job at city hall in recognition for her years of service as best friend to the mayor.

Opinion | Closing schools is not a vision
Minneapolis Public School leaders should be talking about what kind of a school district they want to build.

Just build housing! The city leadership as a whole should've come out against this idea immediately. It has easy access to parks in the hottest area of the city, housing is a no brainer. Frey truly has no vision for the city and is just chasing trends.

A real tension in Minneapolis politics is the post-Surge activation of people whose main point of interaction with community is Instagram. No clue how to find information that isn't spoon-fed via vertical video or a social-optimized graphic, blundering into situations confused and misinformed.

AOC: Millennials are not punk kids anymore. We're grown adults with mortgages and kids, and that generation is starting to be decisive at the polls. And there is anger at being ignored, having our economic futures mortgaged by the generations that came before us and we're taking the reins

People ask me all the time: "Dr. Commish, why did the Blue Line Extension get more expensive?" The honest answer is because we listened. And it's still the most affordable federal light rail project of its kind, per mile, in the entire country. 🧵

Did Minneapolis’ ugliest building have to be this bad?
An unholy storm merging a disdain for the past with an embrace of poor taste left downtown’s streets bereft.

My prediction was correct. The initial proposal for Les Bolstad looks like something out of Blaine or Lakeville. Not like something at the heart of the metro, the amount of surface parking alone is astounding. Hopefully Falcon Heights rejects this proposal.

When the district moves forward with its building reduction/budget trimming, they need to preserve the pre-50s buildings because you will never replace those. Even nice new schools are built like warehouses.

The 4 plans for Anishinabe Academy at the old Cooper Elementary site. I'm happy to see some preservation of the old building, but it's probably not financially feasible for the district to move forward with new construction right now.

They see Minneapolis not as a pillar to hold up as a state, but as an enemy to tear down at any chance they get. It's not just rural areas but the suburbs too. Which, as they expand, we will see more and more division due to their lack of community and cohesion.
