On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell JVP) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.

I wish more people would address this as an executive problem. No logging, no moderation, no observability, ... Palworld has more security. For decades people (like me) could cause entire outages in entire regions. Jail or fired if I did. In most of these scenarios, some mechanism should stop me.

It was information solely from cable news or papers, now Twitter/X is used a news a primary source, insta feeds political or rage bait content, same with fb & TikTok I assume. 10-15 these were social spaces, post COVID just blurred the lines to all in one content apps

Agreed it's just an idea but it somehow feels like COVID made lot of young people reconsider life choices despite being financially ok. Can't pinpoint the exact channel through which it translated into consumer sentiment but increased information or rather personalized information could be it.

Information flows both ways right ? Albeit at different rates. I think the world has opened, people might not act on it but subconsciously they're aware of a broken system worldwide unless you got money. I'd wager the failing sentiment also coincidences with increased drop in birth rates

Folks who have never heard of American swing state politics know all about it. Same with Israel/Palestine, unless part of a fascist country under solely state media, we can see live videos from the non white/journalist washed "sources" now

The amount of free time in COVID opened things up by a lot. Especially in non western countries, this increased stream of access and information transfer was never present before. This combined with growth in internet access worldwide to support said remote work

People have a lot more acces to information now than ever before, even if it is slop or lies. You got multiple sources and theories now, whereas 70s you just trusted the "national" news/politicians

the World Cup is one of those things that reminds us we’re one humanity. Sucks that a corrupt few influence so much division in us. Day to day life around the world is still that we eat, drink, laugh, cheer for a goal. Remembering our shared humanity is so important now. If we forget, we’re doomed.

Not claiming QE was the sole driver of inequality by any means but lack of any fiscal policy just made the situation worse. QE version after GFC did simulate the economy but favored the rich, probably cause it didn't have impact on housing which is a major asset for middle/low income group

JDayne @humanistdot.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
It disproportionately does help asset holders though, particularly those with access to financial markets. There is a reason why post GFC the recovery was so damn slow compared to COVID. High time we stop looking at "markets" as some rational entity that folks have equal access to.
