Also this same federal judge asked clerks to decide civil cases without his input, which is, IMO, an incredibly serious violation of judicial duties. I personally do not understand why this guy still has a job.

I've seen a lot of "don't get your hopes up" posts about Texas lately and, I mean, don't convince yourself it'll happen and then spin out if it doesn't? But assume it's doable and then declare a progress victory if the margin is even close because BUILDING THAT VOTER MACHINE matters!!!

If you're a juror on a trial where you even *suspect* the defendants are guilty of an offence carried out as an act of protest (because they've also been banning recent defendants from talking about Palestine), you absolutely *have* to acquit them, because you now don't know what the Judge will do.

There is no actual concerted "anti-male" political party or even meaningful political tendency anywhere in the world, but even the tiniest advances for women and queer people are treated as an absolute existential threat to stamp out, and used as ideological fuel for reactionary movements worldwide.

This woman, who also represented three J6 defendants and well as Roy Moore in one of his defamation suits, is one of the people they hired to be an immigration judge; a person who will have to decide on gender-based violence cases.
Another recruit is Melissa Isaak, who alleged in a 2021 speech at an anti-feminist convention that accusations of domestic abuse by men against women and children are “one of the most abused allegations in family court.” Domestic violence can also come up in immigration court, because victims often cite their experience as grounds for seeking asylum. Isaak’s official court bio did not detail any immigration-related experience.
